License Shows Invalid
Getting an "Invalid License" error? Here's how to fix it.
Common Causes
1. Typo in License Key
The most common issue! License keys are:
- 16 characters
- Format: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
- Case-sensitive
Fix:
- Go to your portal
- Copy the license key using the copy button
- Paste directly (don't type manually)
- Check for extra spaces before/after
2. License Already Activated on Another Store
Each license can only be activated on one store.
Signs:
- Error mentions "already in use"
- Different domain shown
Fix:
- Check if you activated on a different store
- Contact support for domain transfer
3. Domain Mismatch
License is locked to a different auto-generated domain.
Signs:
- Error mentions domain doesn't match
- You're on a different store than activated
Fix:
- Verify you're on the correct store
- Transfer your domain in the portal if needed
4. License Suspended
In rare cases, licenses may be suspended.
Signs:
- Previously working license stops
- Error mentions suspension
Fix:
- Contact support immediately
- Provide your license key and email
Step-by-Step Diagnosis
Step 1: Verify the License Key
- Log in to portal
- Find your license
- Copy the key exactly
- Compare with what's in theme settings
Step 2: Check Activation Status
In your portal, check if the license shows:
- "Active" - Should be working
- "Not Activated" - Needs activation
- A domain - Which store it's locked to
Step 3: Verify You're on the Right Store
- Check your browser URL
- Confirm it matches the activated domain
- Remember: use your auto-generated domain (has numbers)
Step 4: Test the License
- Remove the license key from settings
- Save (blank)
- Re-enter the license key
- Save again
